Vegetable Beds
- Lift Early Potatoes - watch for signs of blight
- Start picking French Beans - feed after harvesting for a later (snaller) crop - pick pods when about 4 inches long, and keep picking
- Transplant leeks if not already done
- Harvest shallots and garlic
- Feed Brussels Sprouts
- Sow Spring and winter Cabbage (without fertiliser/manure
- Sow main-crop Turnip, Swiss Chard, Perpetual Spinach, winter Radishes,
- Continuous sowing - lettuce, spring onions, radishes, rocket
- Crop cucumbers at 6 inches, gherkins at 4 inches, courgettes at 4 inches
- Limit pumpkins to 2 per plant
- Earth up sweetcorn roots; shake plants in block to help pollination
- Remove flower heads on herbs - especially Lemon Balm otherwise it will take over!
- Watering, weeding - and check for pests/diseases
